Italy: Our Tours
Spyns provides small luxury tours to Tuscany and Siena’s Palio horse race. The question we most often hear is, “Do I have to stay with a group?” The answer is: absolutely not but even if you do, you’ll be with about 8-10 people. With Spyns you can do as little or as much as you want. Let us guide you through Siena’s medieval streets or go it alone. Our guides are like a personal concierge. - 4-day "Just the Palio" our most popular tour to Siena. The Palio lasts 4 days but it takes all year to prepare. Scream like a local at the practice races. Sing your heart out at an outdoor pre-Palio dinner. See your district’s horse or Palio museum before the race. From our balcony, watch the screaming, crying masses below during the race. Between all of the Palio events, spectacular Siena’s sights, restaurants, and shops all beckon. classic Siena adventure. This tour gives you just enough time to enjoy the Palio days before finishing your Italy tour. Includes guide, hotel, some meals (see details), pre-Palio dinner, balcony tickets to see the Palio, and send-off dinner.
- 5-day "Florence & Siena" Florence & Siena are just 60 miles apart but 700 years of history separate them. They are the perfect combination for your next trip to Italy. See Michelangelo's David, the Ponte Vecchio, and Siena's Palio all in 5 days.
- 1-week "Tuscany & the Palio" a favorite for those who want explore Tuscany's Chianti wine country at their own pace. Your tour HQ is a Tuscan castle. The perfect base for day trips to neighboring villages...and wine tastings. From there it's on to Siena for the traditional Palio race. Spend 3 days in the medieval walls of Tuscany's proudest city.
- 10-day "Florence Siena & Rome" Combine three of the most incredible destinations on earth: timeless Rome, breathtaking Florence and its neighbor to the south: Siena during the annual Palio races.
