Italy: Our Tours
Spyns provides small luxury tours to Tuscany and Siena’s Palio horse race. The question we most often hear is, “Do I have to stay with a group?” The answer is: absolutely not but even if you do, you’ll be with about 8-10 people. With Spyns you can do as little or as much as you want. Let us guide you through Siena’s medieval streets or go it alone. Our guides are like a personal concierge. We’re there to make your trip memorable so how you explore Tuscany is completely up to you. We offer luxury tours with a heavy emphasis on service, but don’t think that luxury means out-of-this-world expensive. Here is what we’re offering in 2012:
- 4-day "Just the Palio" our most popular tour to Siena. The Palio lasts 4 days but it takes all year to prepare. Scream like a local at the practice races. Sing your heart out at an outdoor pre-Palio dinner. See your district’s horse or Palio museum before the race. From our balcony, watch the screaming, crying masses below during the race. Between all of the Palio events, spectacular Siena’s sights, restaurants, and shops all beckon. classic Siena adventure. This tour gives you just enough time to enjoy the Palio days before finishing your Italy tour. Includes guide, hotel, some meals (see details), pre-Palio dinner and balcony tickets to see the Palio.
- 5-day "Siena & the Palio" Spend 5 days in the medieval walls of Tuscany's proudest city. This tour gives you an extra day of R & R after the Palio to really dig into Siena’s rich history after the euphoria of the race. As well as everything included in the "Just the Palio" tour, we‘ll take you further into Siena's culture & invite you taste Tuscany with a private send-off dinner in one of Siena’s newer restaurants…only in business for 150 years. La Dolce Vita!
- 1-day "At the Palio" If you are not in town for long, then come and enjoy a day at the races with us. We’ll endow you with a guide, the worlds hardest to reserve private balcony to watch the Palio, a walking tour of Siena & a private send-off dinner.
